24's Last Day
What many thought would happen did, 24 got canned. I speak as fan of the show when I say, THANK YOU…DAMNIT! I wasn’t there from the start, I came in during season 5, but I caught up by watching the 4 other seasons in 4 weekends. This is how the most avid fans are supposed to have watched the show right? In 24 straight hours? I certainly was aware of the show and concept long before...

Stateside Soccer
Best logo ever, gotta love the snake!I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite sometime, kickoff of the 2010 MLS Season and game one for the Philadelphia Union. To be sure I’m not “soccer fan.” I don’t wig out or sing or am part of some obscure fan club for a Premier League team. I do have an admiration for it. This is fine, however somethings should just not be a retail product. This...

My Experiment in Cryogenics
My girlfriend has been looking for a job for well over a year now. This has gone from applying for positions while still a senior in college to now being ten months beyond graduation with no prospects in site. She did all the right things, worked her ass off at every stage, and has applied to every position she can conceivably do. For this she has been rewarded with nothing, no job, and now...

The Pacific, Episode 1
I recommend supplementing my review with listening to an interview with Donald Miller, professor of history, from my alma mater which took place 3/15/2010 on WHYY FM: D-Days in the Pacific.  HBO’s goal of creating a miniseries around every film Tom Hanks has ever stared in hit a snag Sunday evening when the universally acclaimed series The Pacific premiered. Where is the HBO series about...
